Android 7.0 Nougat Features- Whats New

Before we move on to see which Moto devices are going to get Android Nougat Update, let’s first see what’s new in this major update from Google.
The major feature updates in Android Nougat are –
• Direct reply Notification
• Multi window
• Bundled notification
• Night mode
• Improved battery saver
• The Doze feature now works on the lock screen itself
• Unicode 9 emoji is supported
• Settings have Subheads
• Some enhancements in Security –FFile-level encryption is supported now
• Major updates in performance due to addition of Just in time(JIT) compiler which finally gets rid of that long “optimizing Apps” screen

Note: Most of the Motorola’s 2014 devices will not get the Android Nougat update. There are plenty of reasons behind this, one of them is hardware limitation! Because of Vulkan API, Android Nougat needs the Open GL 3.1 native support which is not present in most of the 2014 CPU’s.

Nougat brings some important and much needed practical updates to the currently existing Android framework, The transition is much smoother now and features like multi-window and Direct reply notification are just icing on the cake. Overall the Nougat update has just taken the Android experience to the next level.
